Illegal Illegals.Did I Mention They're Illegal?

By: Ian Essling

Illegal immigration debate has spiraled out of control over the past few months. First, HR4437 was dismantled by open-borders Democrats and Republicans afraid of losing their seats.

That bill was awesomely powerful and would have helped this country so much. Seven hundred miles of fencing to hamper illegal crossings, mandated watch programs for employers to make sure they were not employing illegals, fines for aiding and abetting illegals and some more great border protection and anti-terrorism provisions.

I personally think that the House is a whole lot smarter than the Senate; after all, when you have John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and Teddy "I Run People Over and Get Away With It" Kennedy in the same political body, the process is bound to become bogged down by sheer stupidity.

The House passed the bill, but the Democrats in the Senate went berserk, tearing at their shirts and pulling on their hair in a fit of rage. (True story: Kennedy went out and killed another hooker just to show us how serious he was.)

Ok, not really, but you get my point.

Senate Republicans became afraid for their jobs after seeing the protests about the "Sensenbrenner bill," and gave up all pretenses of standing up to the masses and taking the road that was best for this country.

They buckled to political pressure and formed a bill in conjunction with the Democrats.

This new proposed bill essentially excused years worth of immigration violations; this thing was an unholy union between people that don't even belong in Congress. Basically, it's a dead giveaway that there is something demonic about a bill when Teddy Kennedy signs off on it right away.

Gone were such cornerstones of immigration reform such as walls and felonies. Instead, an amnesty program that rewarded the illegals the longer they were in the country. Yeah, that makes sense.

Thank God Frist overestimated his support for the bill, and the Senate wisely voted it down. Now, the loyal conservatives will have to put another legitimate bill forward and tear down this nation's fixation with open borders and illegal amnesty.

I could discuss and debate immigration reform all day long. What follows is a little breakdown of the various aspects of this issue.

Undocumented Workers?

I noticed awhile back that we stopped using the term "illegal immigrant." I was understandably perturbed by this development. It's not enough that political correctness has to seep into every other facet of our lives, now we can't even call criminals criminals anymore.

Instead we call them "undocumented." How ridiculous is that? I think we need to apply this naming practice to other crimes as well. After all, we have to be fair to everyone.

Under that theory, shoplifters are no longer stealing. They are committing an Undocumented Purchase.

Vandalism? Undocumented Damage to Property.

Car thieves? Undocumented Acquisition of Vehicular Transportation.

Sounds pretty ridiculous, doesn't it?

Given the fact that illegal immigrants have broken and are continuing to break Federal Law, they are, in fact, illegal. That really is the definition of the word.

This "undocumented" euphemism is both disgusting and incorrect; immigrants who are in this country illegally are, always have been and always will be, illegal.

Amnesty

The very idea of giving amnesty to someone who has broken Federal Law makes me sick.

It is sheer insanity. Why on earth would you just simply give people a bye for breaking laws?

Although, since we're all about equal opportunity in this country, I guess we're going to have to give amnesty to others as well. Let's go release a few murderers, some embezzlers and a couple rapists.

After all, they broke Federal Law just like the illegals. We can give them amnesty too, right? It's only fair.

The other part of this ridiculous amnesty idea is the fact that people think we should give more amnesty to people the longer they have been in this country illegally.

Let me get this straight: the longer someone has been breaking Federal Law, the more lenient we are going to be on them. Does this make any sense, to anyone?

Time for another example: a man and woman kidnap a baby from a hospital and raise it as their own. They treat the kid great and all that good stuff, but fifteen years later they are finally caught.

Are we going to say, well, you've been breaking this law for so long, we're just going to let you go? Hell no.

Disrespect

The flagrant disrespect for this country shown by the protesting illegals is another problem I have with this situation.

Illegals claim that they want to be part of this country. Why, then, am I seeing pictures of American flags defiled every day? Mexican flags tacked over the blue canton of the Stars and Stripes, American flags wrapped around people's faces like bandanas; terrible abuses of the traditions and customs that have been around in this country for hundreds of years.

In the past few weeks, the largest travesty yet reared its head. A terribly hacked and slashed version of the Star Spangled Banner has been disseminated among the pro-illegals crowd. Called " Nuestro Himno," this depraved disaster of a song takes small bits and pieces from the original song, but keeps basically none of the original melody. Fierce pro-illegal rhetoric fills the rest of the song, which is set to some sort of urban-ghetto beat that I don't think Francis Scott Key had in mind.

This is just another blatant and terrible disrespect to our country by those who would claim that they want to become a part of it.

National Security

One of the aspects of illegal immigration that many people fail to consider is the impact on national security. Did you know that every day 4000 illegal Mexicans cross the border into the United States, and only 1500 of those are caught?

Pretty bad odds, I think. You want to stake your life on the fact that of those 2500 others, not one of them is working with some sort of terrorist organization?

Ok, ok. So we don't see a lot of Mexican terrorists in general. That's alright, cause I have another statistic for you: 1700. That's how many OTM (other than Mexican) illegal immigrants cross the Mexican border every day.

Barely any of those illegals are caught. Some of them actually turn themselves in, of course. You see, if you catch an Iranian illegally entering the country from Mexico, can you throw him back across the border where he came from? Of course not. You have to deport him to Iran, his home country.

Which means six months of paperwork, and a place to hold the guy until then. Guess what? He gets released, because the Border Patrol has no place to keep him and no resources to do anything else.

The impact on national security is obvious. So many people cross the border every day that it is frightening to even consider the possibility of some of them being terrorists. How many people did it take to murder thousands of people on 9/11? Ten? Fifteen?

For argument's sake, let's say ten. That means that if only 0.002% of the people crossing the border are terrorists, then we are getting ten new terrorists in the country EVERY DAY.

Time to carry a concealed weapon, I think. Oh wait; the Democrats won't let me do that either.

The Wall

Many people are angry about the proposed wall between Mexico and the United States. They say that it is mean and discriminatory to build a wall. I say that it's necessary for the survival of this country. In fact, we should build one between us and Canada as well.

Canada is actually worse with regards to harboring terrorists because their government is the biggest bunch of spineless crazies on the planet (besides the United Nations Security Council, that is), but that's a story for another time.

A physical wall is about the only way to stop the two types of illegals that are the most damaging to our country; terrorists intent on slaughtering us by the thousands, and the type of illegal immigrants who murder dogs, take people captive and tear apart houses on the Arizona border. Not every immigrant acts like these prime specimens, but there are enough horror stories of illegals coming into Arizona and causing problems like this to last a lifetime.

Congressman Hayworth has an excellent book out called "Whatever it Takes;" I highly recommend it as an eye-opening look at the side of illegal immigration you never see on the news.

I suspect there will be many people who disagree with me on this issue, and that's fine.

Illegal immigration has already caused so many problems in this country; do we need to have another 9/11 before we wake up and realize that our borders are one of our most important national resources?
